2003 Season Wrap-Up

For the first time in many years, the North County Gurkhas Rugby Club qualified for the So. Cal. White Division Rugby playoffs. The Gurkhas finished 2nd behind Riverside and ahead of L.A. and the Santa Barbara Grunions.

The Gurkhas played LA in a rematch on April 5 at Oakcrest Park in Encinitas. LA reversed the final league result with a 23-11 win over the Gurkhas to qualify for the National Sweet 16 tournament.

The Gurkhas final match of the season was in Santa Barbara vs. The Grunions on April 26. After 80 minutes of back and forth action the Gurkhas came out on top with a 34-32 win to earn 3rd place overall in the SCRFU White Division.
