Mustachio Bashio 2011
The First Annual Mustachio Bashio was a huge success raising over $1,200 for the team. Thanks to everyone who attended, a great time was had by all and I don't think
anything got broken, which is always a bonus (apart from the DJ's microphone - thanks Tami).
Special thanks should go to the Organising Committee -
- Jason "Country Bumpkin" Sleeper
- Mike "Mr 70's" Rodriguez
- Ben "Hello, ladies, look at your man, now back to me, now back at your man, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped using ladies scented body wash and switched to Old Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re on a boat with the man your man could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an oyster with two tickets to that thing you love. Look again, the tickets are now diamonds. Anything is possible when your man smells like Old Spice and not a lady. I’m on a horse." Barnett
- Coby "I just washed it and can't do a thing with it" Burns
- Barry "Give me the Microphone" Zeait
Having said that, the event would not have been anywhere near as good without the support of the guys from Lost Abbey Brewery, our awesome DJ Rufus and the volunteers such as Trish, Lena,
Eric and Jen who helped by providing the side dishes (apologies if I left anyone out). I also need to say thanks to Jon Surber for the Massage Envy gift certificate, Louis Scheer for the
Beach Cruiser, Ellen Darley for the Henry's gift certificate and all of the local companies who generously donated prizes for the raffle.
There were some truly magnificent displays of facial hair on show at the event, and some not quite so magnificent. As in every competition, there were
winners, losers and some who probably didn't want to win -
- Best in Show - Garrett Jones
- Best Real Mustache - Barry Zeait
- Best Fake Mustache - Coby Burns
- Best Mustache/Costume Combo - Jason Sleeper
- Most Pathetic - Adam Bruhl
Again, many, many thanks to everyone who turned up at the event, it was your support that made the night as successful as it was. It was great to see some
Old Boys supporting the event as well as some new friends.
Now that you all know what the deal is, make sure that you start grooming the cookie duster in preparation for Mustachio Bashio 2012, Revenge of the Beards.
